Phil McMullen Tries for Olympic Spot! [Gazette Article]

Coach Dales addresses Senate! On June 24 Coach Dales was invited to and spoke before Western's Faculty Senate. They had invited him to the meeting to learn how the decision to drop the men's track program and women's synchronized skating program will negatively impact enrollment and correspondingly faculty staffing and course offerings. The faculty is already very concerned about impending faculty cuts and any further drop in student enrollment will obviously lead to more layoffs.

Over 160 Participate in Golf Outing! The June 27 Bring Back Track golf outing sponsored by Shakespeare's Pub was an incredible success with over 160 people participating. Many thanks goes out to Rob Jude for organizing the event and raising money for our movement. Besides the incredible prizes, good food, and beautiful day this event also provided a lot of people with an opportunity to talk about Western's decision to eliminate track and network to bring about change.

BBT Lands Major Sponsor! After a month of discussions the Bring Back Track organization is pleased to announce that a major shoe company has made a commitment to help fund our Bring Back Track efforts. Stay tuned...

Announcement: The Bring Back Track organization is still in need of raising more funds to cover operational and advertising expenses. Since the movement began our organization has placed four full-page colored ads in the Kalamazoo Gazette (approx. 16k worth of advertising) and has spent approximately a thousand dollar in printing and mailing costs. It is our hope to raise additional 11k by September in order to take advantage of some cut rate advertising deals that have been offered to our organization. We as an organization feel that it is important that we continue advertise in order to keep the issues out there as well as send a clear message to the administration that we as a group are not going to go away until the decision is reversed. Please send cash donations to: Bring Back Track, P.O. Box 50214 or call (269) 501-5527 if your group or organization would like to do a fundraiser on our group's behalf. Any and all support is welcomed no matter how small. The more we can raise the more we can do.
