The 1964 NCAA Champions
The 1964 WMU XC Team won the NCAA becoming the first MAC Team in any sport to win a National Championship. Team members included Bruce Burston, Mike Gallagher, Jim Carter, Ted Nelson, Don
Clark, Larry Peck, and Steve Smith.
The 1965 NCAA Champions
The 1965 Team repeated as NCAA Cross Country Champions. Coach George Dales is on the left. Team members are Keith Reed, Ted Nelson, Steve Smith, Roger Plont, Wolfgang Lugauer, Mike Gallagher, and Gary Myers.
