These pages can't begin to describe the rich and storied history of the Western Michigan University Cross Country and Track & Field Teams. They are the most decorated and successful sports program at WMU and in the Midwestern Athletic Conference. Only two NCAA National Championship Teams in any sport have come from the MAC and they were both WMU Cross Country Teams.

1964 National Champions

WMU XC and Track & Field have more members in the WMU Sports Hall of Fame than any other sport and more All-Americans than all other sports combined. A WMU runner was the first person in Michigan to run a sub 4:00 mile.

The alums of these teams continued to contribute in the communities where they lived and raised their families. Many are teachers and coaches, while others are businessmen, lawyers, engineers, and scientists. It is a legacy that Bring Back Track will fight to preserve.
